Eyjafjallajökull, Over 800 Tickets Per Event

Tier 4 – so aptly named Eyjafjallajökull

Much like it's namesake it's the tier that seems like it shouldn't be such a big deal, but it's the hardest working, hardest to pronounce, most obscure mountain reference there is.

Annual events can be north of 70, the audience pays around $20 to see your artist live. Going from paying for less than 800 people to more than 800 is a big deal. The turnover per event is $12k, which means unless your artist is being invested in – a day job is required.

It's the tier of delayed gratification. Google it.

Think those guys you used to go to school with, but are now getting serious radio play!

Mount Hood, Less Than 800 Tickets Per Event

Tier 5 – also known as Mount Hood

It's the tier of happy-to-be-a-local-artist, or for those just getting started. The bank balance is all red on this one. Free entry is not uncommon, and even for ticketed events, the price rarely goes over $15.

Turnover per event is no more than $3500.

Most artists. That current hot artist in your town, probably still a Tier 5
